Alicia Roth Wiegel (she/they)
Alicia Roth Weigel is a writer, speaker and change agent, working to improve the landscape for marginalized populations in the South and around the world. As the founder of Intrepida Strategy, she consults with hospitals, government agencies and other organizations to build culturally competent healthcare systems and safeguard bodily autonomy. As a partner for the Pride Fund, Alicia raises and invests capital to grow LGBTQIA-led companies. As a Human Rights Commissioner for the City of Austin, she has helped pass legislation to reduce sexual assault and human trafficking, mandate paid sick leave and abortion funding, and target other social determinants of health.
Most notably, Alicia continually advocates for the rights of intersex people like her, for which she was awarded the Ceci Gratias Guardian Award by the Austin LGBT Chamber of Commerce in 2019 and named an Austin Under 40 finalist for Civics, Government, and Public Affairs in 2023. She proudly resides in Texas with her chihuaha Chiquita. Alicia’s first book, Inverse Cowgirl, is available for pre-order now and will be released by HarperCollins in Fall 2023.
